Daegu to Offer University Credit Courses to High School Students

The Daegu Education Research and Information Institute has opened its first virtual classroom through the Online Gongdong Education Curriculum. The virtual classroom allows students to enroll in university level courses.

The online curriculum has received significant praise from the participants in the program. The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education will conduct a survey on the effectiveness and popularity of the program before implementing a credit system in high schools.

The credit system is designed to encourage students to allow high school students to earn university credits before entering, which is similar to AP classes offered in the American education system. The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education plans on opening a few liberal arts classes from the end of March to July, but will expand to regular subject classes from September of this year.
