Daegu Health College (DHC / President Dr. Nam, Sung-hee) students proved their skills at the KDTEX.
DHC students from the department of dental laboratory science participated in the Korea Dental Technology EXPO & Scientific Conference (KDTEX). DHC proudly announced on the 29th that the DHC students have won the 1st place at the gypsography category for 2 years in a row.
Hosted by Korean Dental Technologists Association, 100 students from 19 colleges Korea-wide participated in a fierce competition this year.
At the competition, DHC junior Jeon, Min-gu (23, male) and Choi, Ji-yoon (22, female) won the 1st and 2nd place at the anterior teeth gypsopraphy category, receiving 300,000KRW and 200,000KRW respectively. Gypsography is an essential portion of dental technology where the shape, function, and esthetics are emphasized. DHC sophomore Kim, Do-yeon (22, male) also won the 1st place at the prosthetic category, boasting his honed skills at the competition.
Professor Go, Jae-wan from the same department received a commendation from the ministry of health and welfare for his contributions to the national healthcare. Professor Go’s dedication and volunteerism were recognized at the KDTEX. Professor Jeong, Hyo-gyeong received a meritorious plaque from the Korea Dental Technologists Association for her efforts in planning and hosting KDTEX 2019 as a committee member.
Dean of dental laboratory science, Professor Park, Gwang-sik (53) said “I am glad that my students and colleagues have won the awards at a prestigious conference in Korea. DHC department of dental laboratory science was established in the same year when DHC was found. We are proud of our 48 years of traditions and our alumni, approximately 9,000 people, who work in the dental technology field. I will continue to identify job opportunities both domestic and international while nurturing dental professionals with creative competencies.”
