Gyeongju is one of the top spots for tourism in Korea, it’s under an hour away, and is also a wonderful city for your cherry blossom viewing.
Cheongpunghoban Cherry Blossom Festival – Much like Yeouido, Cheongpunghoban’s Cherry Blossom Festival also has forsythia and azaleas, which will add additional pops of color among the pink and white cherry blossoms.

Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do
Yeouido’s Spring Flower Festival – This festival is held in early-spring and is the perfect place to see not only cherry blossoms, but azaleas and forsythia as well. After dark, the flowers are lit-up with colorful lights and there is a wide variety of performances.
Changgyeonggung Palace Cherry Blossoms – Kill two birds with one stone by visiting Changgyeonggung Palace and the gorgeous cherry blossoms they have on the grounds. Admission is 1,000 won (appx $1) for one palace, or you can pay 10,000 won (appx $10) for a month-long pass to the four palaces in Seoul and Jongmyo Shrine.
Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival – The Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival is full of beautiful flowers and offers exhibitions, performances, and hands-on activities.
Seoul Grand Park – The largest park in Korea, Seoul Grand Park is the perfect place to enjoy the cherry blossoms. You can visit the zoo, an amusement park, a rose garden, and a children’s zoo. Visitors can easily spend an entire day at the park enjoying all it has to offer.
Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival - One of the most popular places to see cherry blossoms in Korea, the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival brings thousands of visitors to this small, coastal town each year. There are several photo hotspots throughout the town, including the iconic rail crossing and the beautiful Yeojwacheon Stream (near Gyeonghwa Rail Station).
Southern Cities and Provinces
Hwagae Cherry Blossoms Festival – Showcasing a 4km Cherry Blossom road, the Hwagae Cherry Blossoms Festival is one of the more romantic destinations around. The festival is only over a 3-day weekend, but there is a lot on offer to attract visitors, including cultural events, activities, and programs.
Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival – One of the most popular places to see cherry blossoms in Korea, the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival brings thousands of visitors to this small town each year. There are several prime photo hotspots throughout the town, including the rail crossing and the beautiful Yeojwacheon Stream (near Gyeonghwa Rail Station).
Seomjin Riverside Cherry Blossom Festival – This festival is held alongside the Seomjin River. Visitors can soak up the beautiful scenery, see traditional drum performances, observe a paragliding contest, and have their faces painted.
Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival – Also known as the Hawaii of Korea, Jeju is a very popular tourist destination in Korea. If you are looking for a destination that includes beaches, mountain hiking, and beautiful flowers, Jeju is the place to go!
